Janice Barton Obituary

BARTON Janice Trum Barton, age 94, died in New Orleans on Saturday, August 4, 2012. Wife of the late Meyer Barton, Daniel H. Freeman and Joseph Spiro. Beloved mother of Joan S. Amann. Sister of the late Joseph Trum. Daughter of the late Joseph and Janet Patz Trum. Grandmother of Cary Joseph Amann, Jeffery Bueker Amann and Curtis Parker. Also survived by six grandchildren. Mrs. Barton was the former owner of Bride's World, a longtime member of Temple Sinai Sisterhood and a lifelong volunteer for multiple causes. Graveside Services were held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Hebrew Rest Mausoleum, with Rabbi Edward Paul Cohn officiating. Memorials suggested to Temple Sinai, 6227 St. Charles Ave., New Orleans, LA 70118. Arrangements by Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home of Metairie. Any time I think of Janice, it brings a smile to my face. What a warm giving woman with such a great sense of humor. My deepest condolences. She was indeed a gift to all of us who knew her.
