A great doctor and wonderful person who will be missed. He and the family are in my thoughts and prayers! I had worked with Dr. Cook at Baptist in the cath lab for many years. I was unaware that he had passed but today the mass at St Stephen's was announced to be said for him. My prayers at mass were for your dad. God Bless!

My deepest sympathies to you all. Dr. Cook was always such a fun and hospitable gentleman to the skinny kid hanging out at the Cook house in the summers. I'll always remember him as a person that made New Orleans such a special place for me. Hope you are all doing well and celebrating the life of a great man!

Katie and Family, My prayers and sympathy are with you. As a doctor he had the unique ability to treat his patients and their illnesses...a rare ability in today's doctors. His humanity and caring was evident in everything he did and in all of his advice. His uniqueness was indeed a gift from God. He is sorely missed.

John was a wonderful man and a wonderful doctor. We bonded before Katrina. I felt that he fully engaged with my health and was my personal advocate. I tried to re-establish that relationship after Katrina but was thwarted by Tulane. We were fellow Elves. We both cared about living in the finest houses in New Orleans (which happened to be in the Garden District). I could not believe it when he got sick. I stormed heaven on his behalf. After my automobile accident, he was my greatest advocate and guided me as to what to do. I miss him terribly. I hope that I am as worthy as he is to find a fine mansion in heaven.
