John Alford Secrest

John Alford Secrest passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the age of 67, surrounded by his family. John was born in Albuquerque, NM, and resided in Metairie, LA for the past 29 years. He was the beloved husband of Denise Seuzeneau Secrest and devoted father to Joshua Secrest and Matthew Secrest. The son of the late Lester L. Secrest and Doris R. Benson, he is survived by his sister, Evelyn S. Brocato, and was predeceased by his brothers, Wesley Secrest, James Secrest, and Jonathan Secrest. John will be remembered as a loving husband and father, a good neighbor, and a great friend. He was a kind and easygoing person. He worked tirelessly, even when dealing with health challenges. His generosity to others included sharing his time, talents, and his great sense of humor. His home was always open to everyone, all were welcome. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 444 Metairie Rd. Metairie, LA 70005, on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 12pm. Visitation from 10am to 12pm. Private burial following.
