Joseph Dubuisson Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Eugene Dubuisson Jr., 80 years of age, a lifelong resident of Slidell, Louisiana, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, in Slidell. Joe graduated from Slidell High School in 1961. He was a United States Air Force veteran. Joe was a lifelong member of the Woodmen of the World fraternal organization and served many years on the Dubuisson Cemetery Committee. Joe had a special place in his heart for the STARC organization. As an avid fisherman, Joe loved to spend his time fishing the Rigolets. With the help of his nieces Lenell and Debbie, Joe compiled his archive of articles he'd written for Marsh and Bayou Magazine to publish his book, "Back in the Old Days." Joe was the son of Joseph Eugene Dubuisson and Alice Mable Carpenter Dubuisson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Labanosky Dubuisson; two sisters, Emma Ruth Dubuisson, Dorothy "Teet" Levy; and one grandchild, Ella Huggins Miller. He is survived by his wife of thirty years, Margaret Hoffmann Dubuisson; children, David Huggins (Susan), Janice Dubuisson, John Dubuisson (Elizabeth), Melissa Kaupp, Melanie Tiblier (Christopher); five grandchildren, Ashton Huggins, Caleb Huggins, Marcelle Tiblier, Sidney Tiblier, Millie Tiblier; and other loving family members. Funeral Services will be held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, LA 70460, on Friday, July 28, 2023. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery at a later date. The family would like to thank Passages Hospice for their love and care.
