Joseph A. "Peeps" Palermo Sr.

Joseph A. "Peeps" Palermo Sr., passed away on January 8, 2019 at the age of 83. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Elaine Martinez Palermo; his son, Ernest J. Palermo; his parents, Joseph A. Palermo and Josephine Talamo Palermo; and his siblings, Ciro J. Palermo, Liborio Palermo, and Maryann Palermo Stansbury. He is the beloved father of Belinda Lasserre (David), Julie Tobin (Edwin "Toby"), and Joseph Palermo Jr. (Kristina). He is the devoted grandfather of Cory Cheramie (Kristy), Brook Lasserre Mackie (Chad), Wayne Schmauss (Robin) and Steven Schmauss (Ron). He is the loving great-grandfather of Brady Jo Cheramie, Asher Cheramie, Bennett Mackie, Alexia Schmauss, Sam Barr, and Noah Barr. He is also survived by his numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Joseph was retired from The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department after 12 years and from Delta Corrosion after 35 plus years. A caring friend to all, Peeps will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Monday, January 14, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00PM, all at Visitation of Our Lady Catholic Church, 3500 Ames Blvd., Marrero, LA.
