Joseph Roberts Sr.

Joseph Roberts, Sr ended his earthly journey on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the age of 70. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Joseph was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Delgado Community College, and he attended Union Baptist Theological Seminary. Elder Roberts, also he was affectionately known was a retired employee with Chevron, after 20 years of service. He was active in the ministry including establishing Riverside Ministry and he became an ordained minister and Superintendent in the Church of God in Christ. He pastored New Bethel COGIC for more than 30 years and he also pastored St. Paul COGIC for several years. Elder Roberts founded Regional Neighborhood Community Development Corporation (RNCDC) where he developed and designed homes, businesses, and other establishments. Loving father of Joseph (Charmaine) Roberts, Jr., and MaryJo Roberts (Tarell Franklin). Grandfather of Johannah and Elijah Franklin. Son of the late Clarence Roberts and Clara Williams. Brother of Mary and Eddie Roberts, and Emmanuel Williams. Uncle of Walter and Monique Hardy, Porscha Gailes, Paul and Marcel Berg. Great uncle of Mariah Hardy. Brother in-law of Rev. Walter Hardy, Jr. and Julia Hardy, Phyllis Renae and Marcell Gailes, and Moses Kelly, Jr., also survived by a host of other relatives, church family, and friends.
