Joseph Timothy "Timmy" Scholl Jr.

1939 - 2022

Joseph Timothy "Timmy" Scholl, Jr., passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2022 at the age of 82 at his home in Metairie, Louisiana. After a brief battle with cancer, Timmy passed away surrounded by his loving wife and family. Timmy proudly served as a Reserve Lieutenant with the New Orleans police department for 21 years. Timmy was born on June 5, 1939 and was the son of Captain Joseph T. Scholl and Santa Maria Imbraguglio. He had three siblings, Gayle S. Fiore, June M. Ayo and Patricia A. Shows, all of whom are deceased. He is survived by his close niece and nephew, Kathleen and Donald Ducote. He is preceded in death by his lifelong friends George Hillard Creath, Jr. and his son, George Hillard Creath, III. He is survived by a dear friend, Pamela Corcoran Creath and the entire Creath family as well as lifelong friends, Joseph and Kathleen Maumus and the entire Maumus family. Also survived by dear friends, Dr. William Perez, wife Racheal and the entire Perez Family. Timmy is survived by his devoted wife, Jacquelyn Benoit Scholl. At the age of 17, Timmy met the love of his life, Jacquelyn Benoit (16) and they were married on November 26, 1956. They have had a fabulous life together enjoying a blissful 65 wonderful years. Timmy did his best to make people laugh and knew how to have a good time, especially when getting together with family and friends. If Timmy were here today to make a final statement, he would say, "I did it my way"!!! A mass in Timmy's honor will be will be held at St. Angela Merici Church on March 29, 2022, located at 901 Beverly Garden Drive, Metairie, Louisiana, 70002. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. This will be followed by a mass at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Timmy's honor to his favorite charity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
