JW was a community advocate in the Carrollton/Hollygrove area. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Homegoing Celebration to be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Pleasant Zion Baptist Church, 3317 Toledano St., New Orleans, LA 70125. Reverend Kenneth Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. and the service begins at 9 a.m. A military burial follow the service at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery; Slidell LA. Services were entrusted to D.W. I am so sorry I could not attend the service. As an adolescent JW was someone I looked up to. His exemplary military service and accomplishments were awe inspiring. As a community leader he was well respected and appreciated. My prayers and condolences to the family.
