Linda Cavalero Obituary

Linda Phillips Cavalero, lovingly known as ""Cookie"", passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at the age of 76. Born October 2, 1944, in Goldsby, Oklahoma to the late Oscar and Nora Aleen Phillips. She was a resident of Metairie, Louisiana. She loved and was loved by all her family wholeheartedly. She will forever be terribly missed by all who knew her. Her love for her family could not be measured, it was far too much. She loved life and lived life to the fullest. She was always ready to go on a trip, eat out with friends, have a night of card games, celebrate at the traditional Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve party, have any reason to wear one of her many festive hats, or just spend time with her family. Linda is survived by her beloved husband and love of her life of 54 years, James M. Cavalero ""Jimmy""; her sonshine, James M. Cavalero, Jr. ""Jim"" (Denise Brooks); her grandchildren, James M. Cavalero, III (Emily) and Jenna Elizabeth Cavalero, who affectionately called her Grammie; her great grandbabies, Sadie and Anthony; her brother, Riley Phillips (Linda); her sister, Loretta P. Ballard (Dale); her godchild, Megan L. Olasin; her puppy, Oliver; and her many nieces and nephews, in laws, aunt, cousins, and so many dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Donald P. Phillips. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest in Garden of Memories mausoleum. The family would like to express their gratitude to Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis, East Jefferson General Hospital, Heart of Hospice and all her doctors for the wonderful care they provided for our Linda throughout the years.

When I think of Linda, always 'Cookie" to me, I remember her laugh, and how she was always glad to see whomever happened to walk in the door. Oh, how she loved people. Thank you for your weekky calls to my mom, she so enjoyed your visits with her. You are missed Cookie, and will never be forgotten.
