Lula Mae Jones "Shorty" Davis

1929 - 2023

Lula Mae Jones Davis (Shorty) was 93 years old. Born on May 25, 1929, she was a devout Christian and baptized as a Jehovah's witness on June 2, 1951, at a convention in Atlanta Ga, "Theme Clean Worship." Family She was a devoted wife to the late Allen Davis Sr. "Mule, Deutz." The beloved daughter of the late Joseph Jones and Etheling Jones, Loving mother of Russell Dobard, Pauletta Davis Washington (Peter Washington), Robin Lynn Davis, Eric Lyle Davis (Late Latricia Davis) and Stepmother to Allen "Boe" Davis Jr. Sister of Laverne Moses (Leon Moses), Olga Beasley (late Lewis Gene Beasley), the late Percy Jones, the late Kirby Jones, the late Nolan Jones (late Betty Jones), also the late Florida "Noon" Jones Merrick (late Jessie Merrick). Lula was the daughter in-law of the late beloved Carey Davis and Pearl Davis and beloved sister in-law to the late Pearlie Manuel (late George Manuel Sr.), Henry Davis Sr (late Sylvia Davis). Lula is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Alisha Davis, Veronica Washington Allen (Andre Allen), Jessica Washington, Rhea White and 6 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness located at 3031 Behrman Highway, New Orleans, LA 70114. The visitation will begin at 9 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Memorial Park Cemetery in Empire, La. Streaming services are also available via zoom.
