Major William A. Reeves

Major William A. Reeves of Deptford, N.J., age 85, on February 14, 2005 at Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury, N.J. He was the son of the late Idella and Edward Reeves. William attended Tuskegee University, played for Birmingham Black Barons Negro League Baseball Team of Alabama, served in the U.S. Army for 20 years and retired with the rank of Major. He was also employed at Mobil Oil Research Facility in Paulsboro and after twenty years there, retried as General Foreman.

Predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Irene Reeves. Survived by his daughter, Toni; son Gordan (Jackie); grandchildren, Tyson and Ginger; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral service 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at the Living Word Bible Fellowship Church, 133 W. Church St., Blackwood, N.J. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Interment Odd Fellow Cemetery, Deptford, N.J. Arrangements by BAGWELL FUNERAL HOME, Penns Grove, N.J.
