Dear Ann and Jayne, Our deepest sympathy to you. Your mother was such a precious and dear friend to my beloved mother and I. She was a sweetheart, so giving to others and full of joy about her family and life.
Both my mother and I served as DAR chairmen and had the pleasure of serving with your mother.
Both my mother and yours served as Regents Spirit of '76, Daughter's of the American Revolution.
How fondly my mother(Mrs.Dorothy M. Stokes)and I enjoyed the wonderful DAR luncheons and meetings at her lovely home in the Garden District. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.
Thinking of you,
George W. Stokes & Family

Dear Anne and Jayne: We are so sorry to learn of your dear mother's death. I remember so many wonderful times in the gorgeous house at Chestnut and Sixth where your mother's good humor and hospitality never flagged. We are sorry to be up in North Carolina instead of by your sides where we would like to be. You can never replace such a wonderful mother, so devoted to her girls. Love and sympathy, Bob & Norris Williams
