Maud Camille Smith

A native and resident of Lottie, LA, Maud Camille Smith transitioned to her heavenly home on April 2, 2022, at the age of 96 after a brief illness. Grandma Maud as she was affectionately called was one of ten offspring born to Aldoph and Zenobia Rylander Smith. Having lived for nearly ten decades she experienced many joys and sorrows, but what kept her all those years is a Bible verse that became her mantra, "The Lord is My Shepherd." She is survived by two adult children (her eldest child preceded her in death), four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will be remembered as a strong-willed, independent woman who liked McDonald's Egg McMuffin, Pepsi Cola, and giving KC Dinner Mints to anyone in reaching distance. Visitation will be held Monday, April 11, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. until the start of the Homegoing Celebration at 11:00 a.m. at Verrette's Funeral Home, 1018 Parent Street, New Roads, LA. Pastor John Joseph of the Green Chapel United Methodist Church will officiate. The Interment will be held at False River Station Cemetery in Blanks, LA. Professional services are entrusted to Verrette's Funeral Home.
