Thought about Merlin a lot during football season. We always talked about the Saints on the phone. We went to so many games together in the Dome over the years. We talked about the Saints returning to the Super Bowl It really felt like he helped to almost make it happen this year. Miss You! My condolences to the family during this week.

I remember making the rounds and going to several neighborhood bars and places in old Metairie with Captain MAP, Bill Lockhart (my father) and Jerry the Squirrel. This always took place in the early afternoon, and the first thing that happened at each place was MAP would get out of the car and knock loudly on the bar door to announce that we were there. The guys always knew somebody in each place. So we had to be careful to have just one drink in each place in order to save room for the next one. I always got MAP's newsletter during football season and looked forward to it a lot. I will greatly miss Merlin A. Paddock.

Merlin will be missed. He was such a great friend. After moving from New Orleans, we still had so many laughs on the phone. One of his favorite topics was the NO Saints, a fan since 1967, when they began playing. My condolences and prayers are with Jackie and the family.
