Mildred Joyce Champagne Childs

Mildred Joyce Champagne Childs, age 81, who is known as "Mom" and "MawMaw Millie" to family and is known as "Ms.Millie" and "Millie Joyce" by others, a resident of Jefferson, Louisiana, has recently passed on to be with our Lord on January 23, 2015. She is survived by her sweetheart, her rock and loving soul mate of 30 plus years Howard C. Ricks, her children James Ray Childs, Kenneth Ray Childs, Bobbi Jo Childs Nance, her daughter in law Beverly B. Childs and her son in law William J. Nance. She has been preceded in God's heavenly passing by her parents Louis Sr. and Mildred E. Champagne, her brother Louis J. Champagne Jr., her son Leonard R. Childs, and her daughters in law Debra H. Childs and Robin R. Childs. She is the grandmother of Cynthia, Kenneth Jr., Terry, Michael, Sheri, Sean, Jacob, Logan, Charles, Adam, and Davis. She is the great grandmother of Tyler, Anthony, Blake, Hailie and Xander. Visitation and Mass will be from 9:00AM-12:00PM on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Mater Dolorosa Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at Lafreniere Park, Shelter #7 in Metairie, LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mater Dolorosa Church in Millie's honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, Louisiana.
