My candle burns at both ends,
It will not last the night;
But ah my foes and oh my friends,
It gives a lovely light. (Millay)

Mama, it's me, catherine. I keep coming back here because it's the last place I can look for you. I'm so grateful God gave me to you. It's very dark and quiet now without you. Can you tap-dance in heaven?

I was blessed with a grandmother so special and magical that she actually SPARKLED. There has never before been anyone like you nor will there be again. I miss you so much it seems unbearable, but then I can hear your cheerful voice and I remember how you never let hard times slow you down. Please send us all strength from the beyond place. Love you to my dying breath, Grandma.

Mama, it's me, Catherine. The silence is deafening, I miss you so. I remember the house we talked about, waiting for us in heaven. Save that beautiful room for me, awash with light, so close to yours we'll sing our good mornings. I don't know how to do this without you.
