It has been 8 long years since you were called home by our Heavenly Father. It still pains me to think of you and brings me to tears when I look at your picture. It doesn't get any easier and the thoughts are still unbearable. I can only take solace in the fact that you are in a better place and are enjoying the complete joy of Christ's promise. Nicholas, know that you are loved and missed every day. You will always be one of my many angels in heaven. Loving and missing you always. Aunt Maria

Today is the 6th anniversary of your calling home by Our Heavenly Father. Your absence is still unbelievable. Masses, balloon releases and visits to your grave are the things that give a feeling of closeness with you. I know you are at peace and enjoying the rewards of being the person who truly practiced love, compassion and generosity. Your heart was a true testament to your spiritual goodness and a window into your soul. So today I don't reflect on what might have been, but instead what was, because it is those memories that today provide me some comfort. You will forever be an inspiration to me. I miss you Nick, today and always, and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Aunt Maria

On the 5th anniversary of your passing, the pain is still there. Oh how I wish I could see that beautiful smile one more time. I try to focus on the good times and the many blessings you gave to those around you. Your presence was like a light in the darkness. I take comfort in knowing that you are now reaping the promise of Our Father of eternal happiness. You are loved and sorely missed. You will always be held close in my heart, thoughts and prayers. Love, Aunt Maria

An Angel Gone Too Soon! You were here one moment, then you were gone. We had no idea what was going on. The sadness in our heart is so hard to bear, thinking you thought no one cared. The emptiness, loneliness and pain you were dealt, makes it hard for us to understand what you had felt. How we wish we could have taken it all away, if only we knew what you were thinking on that day. A thousand words or tears won't bring you back to stay. For God said it was time to go his way. You are now safe in heaven with all the angels above. They will take care of you and give you their love. Our love for you will always remain. Never forgotten, never the same. John 14:1-4
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God[a]; believe also in me. 2 My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Louise, you can call me any time.

Dearest Stephanie, Gerry & Louise: I cannot express how my heart breaks for all of you, but Steph I also know how very deep the hurt is for your family, Roger, Connor, Brooke and Tanner as they try to understand why something like this happens to someone they loved. You as Nick's big sister has always been there for him in the good times and bad. You can rest assured Steph that Nick loved you so very much and he knew deep down in his heart how much you loved him. He will always remain in a special place deep down in your heart. Our prayers are with you today and for the hard days to come. Nick is at peace now and now God has opened his arms and he has taken the job of looking after him until one day when you will be together again.

All Our Love,

Fay Paysse

To the members of the Carman family,
Please accept my condolences on the death of your son, Nicholas. Below, is a poem which I wrote to give to families who suddenly lose a loved one. It was inspired by the sudden and tragic loss of my own daughter in 1997 at the age of 20. I hope it brings some comfort and healing to you.

On Peace For the Bereaved

What can be said at times like these
when life deal a blow which brings us to our knees

Suffering so deep it strikes the core of our being, causing thoughts and questions of life's very meaning

Pain so acute it consumes and wrenches,
sadness so poignant it numbs the senses

We carry our cross because of man's sin, but God conquered death. Salvation is through Him.

And peace can be found in faith, hope, and love
Virtues which bring divine healing from above

May you find God's peace.

I'm happy that you're in a better place now. Fly high my angel! Until we meet again! <3 As for the family of Nick, my deepest condolences to you!
