I worked for Phil for years, and he was absolutely the best boss and friend you could ask for. He will be missed.

Agreat guy. When you went to any of his restraunts ,he went out of his way to treat you like you were family not just a guest. My family still talks about his red gravy being better than everyone elses.A true class act

Worked for Phil probably longer than anyone else , meet so many good people along the way and all loved him very much. I have to say Phil was a good friend to Scooter and I, so many memories and good times. He and his family always felt like part of my family. We will miss him dearly

My condolences to the Anselmo family. Phil was one of the most incredible people l've ever known, a N O original. I worked for Phil on St Charles Av in the mid 80's and became fast friends and remained close thru the years. Paula and I were treated like royalty while dining at Anselmo's Rest. In Metairie. Best Italian food ever. Fine memories of Phil will never be forgotten. We love Phil A. Cyril & Paula

This was a guy full of life, experience, humor and an easy going demeanor we all appreciated. He would always be willing to talk of history or even turn off the rock and roll for a treasured operatic turn. Who knew? Memorable man.

Worked at Anselmo's Restaurant in the mid 1990's and had good times at C Beevers. Phil was laid-back, easy going and down to earth. What a warm personality! Sending prayers and peace to the family.

I wanted to extend my deepest sympathies, and my sincere thank you to Phi's children for being so kind, and accepting me during our time together. We managed to see and do a number of things in those years. Phil taught we how to fish, and we had some great trips to Galveston and Grand Isle. He even made going to Winn Dixie fun! (I think because it always took twice as long- people loved talking to him, and he loved talking to them too.)
I was incredibly proud of his childrenm and not just because of how gorgeous and talented they all are, but because they are truly great people. It was a real privlidge to be a part of that.
Love Always,
Sarah Butler

The memories and experiences we shared in our years together are things I will never forgot. Phil was the first person to teach me how to fish! Though I haven't been in touch with the family for some time, I want you to know that I love & miss you all, and I think of you often. Thank you for accepting me into your life for a time. You are all the most wonderful, talented, loving people and he was incredibly proud of all of you.
Love Always,
Sarah Butler (the one from Canada)
