Philip Toups Obituary

TOUPS Philip J. Toups Sr. a native of the St. Charles Community and resident of Raceland died on July 12, 2011. He is survived by his three children Phyllis Toups Robichaux and husband Dickie, Theresa Toups Brocato and husband Jimmy and Philip Toups Jr. and wife Debbie. Five grandchildren Todd Robichaux and wife Michelle, Rachelle Robichaux Boyd and husband Andy, Cy Toups and wife Renee, Celeste Robichaux and Neal Toups. Seven great grandchildren, Jeanne and Joshua Robichaux, Kyle, Alyssa and Zoe Boyd and Sarah Grace and Claire Toups. Two brothers Joseph E. Toups Jr. and Louis Toups. One sister Dorothy Toups. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Theresa Toups Toups, his parents Joseph E. and Laura Sevin Toups. Three brothers Paul, Francis and Leo Toups, two sisters Katherine and Margaret Toups. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired welder and mechanical construction contractor. Visitation will be held Thursday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Thibodaux 8:00-8:30 for family and 8:30 till funeral time at 11:00 am with burial in the St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery. Falgout Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

So saddened to hear of Mr. Toups passing, but so glad to have known him. I will never forget how he always carried such a big smile and a kind demeanor. Phyllis & Dickie, it has been a number of years since I have seen you but I saw the Obituary about your father and wanted to my express my sympathy. Your father lived a long life but when our parents pass it is always difficult. I still miss both of mine.

Hope to see both of you before I make the transition.
