Pierre Paul Poree

1956 - 2021

Pierre Paul Poree was born on September 19, 1956 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Pierre was the second child born to the union of Vera Brown Poree and Louis Poree Sr. Pierre was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 20, 2021 at the age of 64 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Pierre was a student of music and God's word but he was an even better teacher of both. Pierre's strong faith was the cornerstone of his life and what surely blessed him with great success in his careers as a jazz musician and an educator. Pierre is reunited in Heaven with his loving wife of 35 years, Una, his father, Louis Sr., and his brother, Jeffrey. He leaves to cherish his memory his four sons, Christopher (Erin), Michael (Gina), Stephen, and Anthony (Theone); grandchildren, Chrishan, Jaylynn, Catherine, Clyde, Cole, Angelo and Paisleigh; mother and step father Vera & Roy Rodney; sisters, Beverley and Lynette (Marion); brothers, Louis (Delphine), Gareth (Monique) and Everette (Annette); stepsister, Deidre; stepbrothers, Roy Jr. (Michelle), Mark, Kevin, and Brett (Bethany); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and dear friends. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Raymond & St. Leo the Great Catholic Church 2916 Paris Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 10 am. Visitation will begin 9 am. Burial will be in St. Louis #3 Cemetery. Due to covid19, everyone attending is required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing. Gatherings are limited (No Exceptions).
