Raymond Garofalo Obituary

GAROFALO Raymond Edward Garofalo, Sr passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 2009 at the age of 81. Son of the late Anthony and Mary Garofalo. Husband of the late Jean R. Garofalo. Beloved father of Raymond E. Garofalo, Jr. and the late Robert E. Garofalo. Father-in-law of Joan S. Garofalo and Patricia Garofalo. Loving Grandfather to Robert, Jr., Randy, Raymond, III, Rayne and Remy Garofalo. Brother of Caroline and Hilda Garofalo, Helen Guidry and Bertha "Bea" Bajorek. Mr. Garofalo attended LSU and a 1953 graduate of Loyola University. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Navy and served for many years in the Naval Reserve. He retired as a Commander. He was a Computer Systems Analyst for Shell Oil Company for 28 years until his retirement. He was active and full of life until the day of his passing. He will be remembered for his kindness and caring for others. He was a grandpa to many and was loved and respected by all who knew him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6363 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Saturday October 24, 2009 at 11 AM. MS CAROLINE AND HILDA,
I was so sorry when I read of Mr Garofalo's passing, each time he came to his doctor's office we enjoyed him and I loved him very much. I know you will both miss him and I will too. You will be so missed by so many. You always had a smile, a good attitude and a wonderful sense of looking at the positive in all. I will miss you.

To Ray, Jr. Cuz), Robert, Jr. and the rest of the cuz's along with Aunts Caroline, HIlda, Helen and Bea....whatta guy he was!

Please know that Uncle Ray is happy wherever he is whether it be serving those here on Earth or as one who is close to our Lord in Heaven. May God's blessings be with the entire family during this time.
