Reginald Van "Reggie" Husband

Reginald Van Husband (Reggie) was born May 2, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to James and Willie Ann Husband. After graduating from G. W. Carver High School, he moved to Bronx New York to live with his brother Jimmy Husband Jr. In June 1968 he united in holy matrimony the late Norma McNeil. He and Norma began their lives by opening and owning a printing business for a while. From this union one child was born, Alexandra Husband. Several years later in 1999 he met and married Rose Coleman. Her children, David, Gershon, Miriam, Chanie, Rachel, Shalva and Levi who cared for him deeply. Reginald moved and settled back in New Orleans in 2014 after retiring from United States Postal Service. He reinstated to his home church, Battle Ground Baptist Church. He had a feisty tongue and a "know it all attitude," but was a gentle giant. He loved New York but was also grateful to be back home so he could go fishing with his cousin John Keeler (Jr. Boy, deceased) and his friend Jay Davis, whenever he got the chance. His sister Rose, brother-in-law Gene, his nephew Gregory, his friend Deidra and Mr. Porter was by his side for everything he needed. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jimmy, and Willie Ann; brothers Vincent Husband, Willie Husband, and Jimmy Husband Jr.; his first wife Norma; sisters-in-law Dorothy Husband, Delores Husband. Reggie leaves to cherish his memories his daughter Alexandra Husband; grandson Xavier Husband; sisters Rose Williams (Eugene), Joyce Washington (Lawrence), many nieces, nephews, relatives, and lifelong friends. Family and friends are invited to attend Reginald's Memorial Service on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Highway, New Orleans, LA 70126 for 1:00 p.m. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Rev.
