Tricia, Cody and Dylan,

1st off, I want to say I love you. I am so grateful i had the chance to coach you both. Your dad was so proud of you. It seems like yesterday, we were in Cooperstown with him taking us on a boat ride. Continue to make him proud! God has a plan for all of us, I know it is so hard for you right now but realize, he is sitting with God right now. He was a giver, he served our country, then protected it as a police officer. He was a great person and more importantly a great father and role model. You have grown to be the men he wanted you to be. Please keep the faith that you will one day.be with him in heaven. I will continue to pray for peace for your family. I am so sorry for your loss.
Love, Coach Derek
