SCHULTZ, RICHARD J., 87
Gainesville - Richard 'Dick' J. Schultz, 87 of Gainesville passed away on Tuesday, July 7th at the E.T. York Hospice House with his family by his side.
Richard was born in Oak Park, Illinois and was a retired switchman for the phone company. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. Richard was a member of Abiding Savior Lutheran Church and the American Legion Post #16 of Waldo. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, stained glass work, and painting.
Richard is preceded in death by his son, Richard Dale Schultz; brother, Alvin Schultz; and sister, Margaret hunter. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Olivia Schultz of Gainesville, Florida; daughter, Dr. Holly Darwin and husband Tim of Gainesville, Florida; and granddaughter, Croix Darwin of Gainesville, Florida.
The family will have a gathering at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church, 9700 W. Newberry Rd., Monday, July 13th beginning at 2:00 pm. Richard's celebration of life service will begin at 3:00 pm at the church, with all friends welcome to attend and share with the family.
