Robert "Bob" Cameron Sr.

Robert "Bob" Cameron, Sr., a retired Longshoreman of Local 3000, died at his home on Monday, November 17, 2003. He was 88 years. Robert was a native of Franklinton County, MS and a lifelong resident of Orleans Parish. He was the son of the late Isom and Frances Cameron, natives of Meadville, MS and later residents of Chicago, IL. He was a faithful member of the Second Historic Baptist Church. Robert was the husband of the late Elice Puckett Cameron. Father of Roberta Jennings and Leslie Fay (James) Etienne both of Moreno Valley, California, Gerald (Valerie) Cameron, Robert Cameron, Jr. and Isiah (Karen) Cameron of New Orleans, LA. Brother of Isom ""Brother'' (Theresa) Cameron of Natchez, MS, the late Frank, Vernon, Acey and Junior Cameron; sisters: Olivia (Robert) Bernard of Chicago, IL and the late Ernestine (Frank) Washington. Also survived by 9 grandchildren: David, Jerrell, Jordan and Courtney Cameron, Joel and Christopher Etienne, Andrian Jennings, Dana Keys and Chad Rodney; and a host of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends of the family; clergy and members of Historic Second, Divine Providence and Greater St. Stephen Baptist Churches, St. Maria Goretti in New Orleans and Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Natchez, MS; employees of CNO Electrical Inspectors, Sewerage and Water Board, Jefferson Transit and Alltel; and faculty, staff and students of McDonogh 35 High School are invited to attend the funeral at HISTORIC SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH, 2505 MARENGO STREET, NEW ORLEANS, LA on Monday, November 24, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Providence Memorial Park Cemetery.
