Robert Greene Obituary
Port Huron
Robert J. Greene Sr., 83, of Port Huron, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Port Huron Hospital.
He was born June 25, 1930 in Grosse Pointe Farms to the late James H. and Irene Greene. He married Marjorie B. Chisholm on December 18, 1948 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2013.
Mr. Greene retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company after 31 years of service and was a licensed real estate agent with his wife since 1968. Bob enjoyed buying, selling and restoring classic cars and in the 1960's sold cars for Hodgins Lafave Ford. He was a Life Member of Fort Gratiot Lodge #374 F. & A. M. and currently a member of Port Huron Lodge #58. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Port Huron Golf Club, and the Port Huron Landlord Association. He was a champion for children and was a former three time P.T.A. president at Michigamme.
He is survived by a son, Robert J. Greene II (Mark White); three daughters, Karen (Dr. Michael) Kress, Marjorie (Dr. Royce) Beers and Sally (Mark) Steward; five grandchildren, Christopher M. Kress, Kelly (Brian) Kress Castro, Dr. Chad (Mindy) Beers, Dr. Kyle Steward and Blake W. Steward; brother, Ronald E. (Barbara) Greene; sister-in-law, Betty J. McPhee; brother-in-law, James W. (Joyce) Chisholm; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Greene.
Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-9 pm on Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m on Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Grace Episcopal Church.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be Christopher Kress, Brian Castro, Kyle Steward, Blake Steward, Chad Beers, Mark White and Greg Whitican.

Sally Vantwood from Ishpeming and I had the pleasure of working with Bob at the phone company many, many years ago. You couldn't have asked for a more courteous, happy and caring person.
