I was so saddened to learn of Mr. Serpas' passing just today. Kent and I were best friends practically from the crib when we both lived on Berhman Ave. in Algiers. I've been thinking a lot lately about their family and decided to look up Kent. This is such a sad first link to hit upon during that search. I'll always remember Mr. Rogers as a strong towering presence of my childhood. I can only hope the entire family can find the solace and comfort, during their grief, through the memories and prayers of family and friends. Even those they haven't heard from in decades.

I was very shocked upon hearing of Rogers passing, and disappointed that I never had the opportunity to meet him. It was a pleasure to talk and write back and forth comparing our notes on the Rogers Family History. His passing will leave a hole in my heart and he will always be remembered as I carry on our research. Love & prayers to Marilyn and family.

I just heard about Rogers death and am still in shock. When I joined the Canary Islanders Heritage Society of Louisiana, I met Rogers and had the privilege of serving on the Board with him. He was always the gentleman.Through our work on the Board we became friends. I will always treasure this friendship. My prayers and thoughts go out to Marilyn and his family.

I am proud and fortunate to have had him as my father-in-law for so many years. He was like a father to me. He has touched my life in so many ways and God has blessed me with his grandson. I will miss the sound of his voice and his wisdom. He has touched so many hearts with his kindness, he has especially touched mine. I already miss him and will think of him always.

Ricky and I will always have the fondest memories of Mr. Rogers. We feel so blessed to have known him for the past 25+ years. I hope he knows that he and Mrs Marilynn gave me one of the best days of my like when he took me on a day of sailing. He will be missed by so many.

I am very sorry to hear of the death of my friend Compatriot Rogers Serpas. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family at this time of grief. He will be sorely missed. As our beloved General Stonewall Jackson said " let us cross over the river, and rest under the shade of the trees." Rest well and rest in peace Rogers.

May GOD bless you and family at this time of loss. In April we were at the Behrman 1950's reunion and got to spend some quality time with Rogers .He was his old jovial self as we recalled high school times and tribulations. The world has lost a truly unique citizen.

Old friends go their separate ways and live in diverse places. But that does not mean they are forgotten. We'll have a reunion in the future, Foots.
