Rome Major Obituary

Rome "Romey" Arthur Major was born on August 29, 2021 at Ochsner Westbank Medical Center, in Gretna, LA to Myliah Major and Waldo Malivert. He became our forever angel on November 8, 2021. When he was born, Rome had big, bright, glossy eyes just like his mother Myliah. His eyes were so bright they could light up the sky, with a face like his auntie Mynicia, and a nose like his great-grandmother Betty. When he was hungry, he would cry loudly like his mother did when she was his age. We often joked about how nosey he was, reminding us of his great auntie Myeshia and great-great grandmother Hedy. Rome shared the name of his late maternal grandfather Arthur Brown. Though Rome's time with his family was short, in just 2 months, 10 weeks, 71 days, and 1700 hours, Rome managed to steal the hearts and eyes of many. He was loved so deeply by his family and those around him and will always be. Rome had a special closeness and friendship with his special girls, his grandmother Mitreal and his aunties Mynicia, Makiyah, and Makayla, who were all his very best friends. His most favorite girl being the very one who gave him life, his mom Myliah. His family cherishes his memory as the brief gift that it was. Rome's favorite things to do was snuggle up close to his mother and grandmother. He would hold on tightly to the shirt of whom picked him up. He loved hearing soothing sounds like the sounds of a hair dryer and his mother's angelic voice singing "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star," to him. Rome is proceeded in death by his grandfather Arthur Brown, great-grandmother Jackie Brown, great-grandfather Mitchell Johnson, great-great-grandfather Ivory Chester, and great-great aunts Wanda, Jacqueline, and Sylvia Major. He leaves to cherish his beloved mother Myliah Major, father Waldo Malivert, Grandparents Mitreal (Terrell Perkins) Major, aunts Mynicia, Makiyah, Makayla Major, uncle Aubrey Jackson, great-aunts Myeshia (Walter Brown) Major and Ernicia (Randy) Presley, great-grandmother Betty Major, great-great-grandmother Hedy Major, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The family welcomes all to join us in his homegoing celebration on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Robinson Family Funeral Home located at 9611 LA-23 Hwy. Belle Chasse, LA 70037. Visitation begins at 9 am, funeral to follow at 10 am. Entombment will follow in WestLawn Memorial Park, located at 1225 Whitney Ave. Gretna, LA 70056. Repast will take place at 1100 Cook St. Gretna, LA 70053. To honor Rome the family, ask that everyone wear yellow and blue.
