Samuel Perry Sr.

Samuel Perry, Sr. was called home by God the father on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the age of 61 years old. Preceded in death by his parents, James & Gertrude Perry; siblings: Larry Perry and Christy Francis and in laws, Helen & Herman Robinson, Sr. Samuel was a native New Orleanian and a graduate of Walter L. Cohen High School and worked for the United States Postal Service for over 25 years. He had an intimate relationship with God and knew Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was baptized at Prayer Tower COGIC. During his lifetime, he also attended Second Baptist (6th District), Mt. Carmel MBC, and Lakeview Christian Center. Samuel was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is mourned by his wife of 32 years, Jeanette Perry; their 3 children: Jessica Perry, Samuel Perry, Jr. and James Perry II; grandson Wyatt Perry; siblings: Willie Perry, Barbara (Joe) Cheatham, and Eddie (Carolyn) Chapman; brother-in-law Theodore Francis and all residing in the New Orleans area. Also survived by his nieces and nephews: Courtney (Rozier), Hannah, Rebecca, Sarah, Joseph, Elijah (Vicky), Christopher, Jade, Desmond, Candice; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis Drive, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, September 23, 2017 for 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, NOLA.
