Shannon Fields Obituary

Shannon Yvette Warner Fields, 54, of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. She was born November 6, 1968, the daughter of Audrey Y. Toliver and deceased father Clarence Lee Warner. Devoted partner of Freddie Jackson. Shannon graduated from Walter L. Cohn High School in 1986 and attended a small college to improve her computer and typing skills even though throughout her life she was a caregiver. On October 8, 1990, she married Byron Joseph Fields who then passed December 5, 1993. Shannon was extremely comical and friendly. Stand next to her in any store and you'll have a new best friend. Many didn't know that Shannon could sing…she could! But couldn't dance for anything. Shannon leaves a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Shannon also has a very kind-hearted, loving devoted cousin; Annie-Mae Toliver, who has helped out a lot. Shannon is survived by her daughter, Brittany Fields, and daughter-in-law Jessica Fields, step-grandson, Jerry Nelson Mansfield, her mother Audrey Toliver (Lionel), two sisters, Trina Cage Bentley and Dronica W. Smith, one brother, Lionel Toliver, Jr., brothers-in-law Douglas Bentley, III and Jonathan Smith, her father-in-law OD Raiford. Also survived by her Godchild Tim Matthews. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 1:00 pm at The Church of the Apostolic Faith, 11700 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA 70129. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment in Resthaven Memorial Park NOLA. Due to COVID-19, everyone attending is required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing. Professional services entrusted to Majestic Mortuary Service, Inc. (504) 523-5872.
