To the Sheng family, I am so sorry to hear the terrible news about Stewart. When I was growing up, my parents would play mah jong with Stewart's parents quite regularly and the kids would play with each other. I have some very fond memories of playing with Stewart and Hilton. He will be missed. I will pass this sad news along to others who knew Stewart.

Dear Cynthia,
My deepest condolences to you and your family. I was shocked to hear such tragic news about Stewart.
Stewart and I used to work together at P.S.1.
He was always filled with creativity. One year, during Halloween, he dressed up as a mummy with toilet tissue wrapped around himself. He created such an uproar of excitement from the students, staff, and parents.
During our Christmas performance, my class and his class sang a Chinese song together. He came up with the idea of making snowflakes fell down from the top of the stage. The audience and the performers had a huge surprise. You could imagine the joy he brought to the kids and adults when they saw the tiny snowflakes cascaded from across the stage.
Steward was such an awesome guy because he always said, "ANYTHING for you, Gianghi." I was sure he said that to everybody, but it felt heart warming and sincere every time he said it.
I will miss STEWART! R.I.P. Stewart!
Take care!
Love,

Cynthia, for all the children out there who adored and looked up to Stew, I send my deepest condolences. For Sully, he was a bright light who lit the volleyball fire in her heart. Just hearing him shout out her name and say great game, made her feel like a million bucks. I know she is just one of the kids he touched, making them feel as though they were something special. There aren't many adults who remember how to truly connect with children and adults too for that matter. Stewart was one of those rare gifts. We are grateful to have been blessed with seeing him at volleyball events and can only imagine the impact he had on those who were close to him and we're loved by him. To your entire family, I pray for comfort in this time of sadness. Gretchen ! Peter, and Sully Howard

March 5, 2014

Cynthia,
Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. Stewart and I had become close over these past few years and I will greatly miss our "hole in the wall" lunches together. We both needed a partner to play hookey. He had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world to him, as well as lighting up the room everytime we were together. I will miss him terribly and the world is a little bit dimmer without him. I pray for you and your family everyday.

Sincerly,

Cynthia,
So sorry to hear about your loss. You are such a beautiful person and do so much good!
I cannot understand why such good people have to suffer. You are always thinking of others. The request for a donation to St Jude's hospital is another way you are always thinking of the less fortunate and making life better for others. I know it does not make sense and there is no explanation but in my heart and mind, God will reward you! Your husband is with Him, that is for sure!
I will be praying for you and your children and your mom.
Sincerely,
Nancy Samrow

Cynthia
It was such a privilege to know and love Stewart. His always positive attitude and warm and loving ways are so rare in this mean world we live in, he was and will continue to be an inspiration to keep a sunny attitude. I can still hear him replying "you are too kind" when someone would wish him well or compliment Stewart. Thank you for marrying him and bringing him to New Orleans, he has left a wonderful imprint on this world and for that I am grateful. Sending you and your family my love and prayers. Doris T Cozzens

A person needs three things in this life to be happy ;Someone to love something to do, something to hope for, If a person has one of these he can get by, If a person has two of these he will be content, If a person has all 3 he will be happy. For the brief Time I've known Stewart it was an honor to spend time with him and his family, our thoughts and prayers are with you Cynthia and your children. May God bless and give you strength.

I've known the Lee family for many years beginning with great memories from The House of Lee. The Sheriff was one of the my favorite people and one of the most memorable personalities I've ever encountered. He was real. So, when Cynthia entered public life, I had a chance to develope a professional relationship through the Council. Through one of the many meetings and gatherings, I had an occasion to spend about 15-20 minutes with Stewart after someone literally pulled Cynthia aside, which I had seen her Father be taken aside the same way at gatherings. Because I had never really spoken to Stewart one-on-one, I felt rather strange. Instead of just graciously excusing himself with a stranger, he took the initiative to actually engage me in a conversation asking about me. His actions spoke to me of kindness and sincerity. He had a smile and demeanor that immediately put me at ease. From that time on, he made it a point to speak everytime I would see them together. I sensed a genuine kindness from a true gentleman. So those 15 minutes four years ago, it give me a look into who Stewart was. Cynthia, you and the children will be in our thoughts and prayers. Jim

February 25, 2014

We are deeply sad by the loss of Stewart. The Lee-Sheng family will be in our hearts and prayers. Knowing Stewart for just a short time through volleyball, he made me feel like I knew him for many years. It was his smile and personality that made me feel special every time we were together. I will miss that in him. If we can be of any assistance to the Lee-Sheng family, please do not hesitate to contact the Edler family through Chip Edler (504) 905-4865
