In Loving Memory Of Tony Emitt Barton. Mr. Barton passed on unexpectedly, December 30, 2023. He is survived by his wife S. Chieko Hunter, his son Hikaru Hunter Barton (4), and daughters Marlowe Barton (16) and Josephine Barton (19). Tony was born in 1969 in Alexandria, LA, the youngest of three brothers to John and Jacquita Barton. Tony attended LSU before moving to California where he learned to surf and tattoo. Tony returned to Louisiana to support his parents and later opened his own tattoo shop in 2009, Hell or High Water on Magazine St. Tony was also a gifted musician in the New Orleans music community and will be remembered for his amazing talent, charisma, generosity, and humor. A memorial ceremony has been planned along the Mississippi River at 5pm, Friday, January 12, 2024 near the Mandeville Shed in Crescent Park followed by a reception at 1420 Gallier St. A support fund for his bereaved widow and son can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/tattoo-tony-barton.

I thought I would see you again. Hope you landed in a good place with ways to play some tunes. I´ll be thinking about you every time I play music. So glad to have had the chance to witness your abilities. It was a unique set of awesomeness.

Welp now it´s 50 deg in the house. My friends have gone home. It´s safe to say this is my own specific personal hell crafted especially for me. Maybe I´m the one that died? Will you check? Put a mirror in front of your mouth. Check your pulse. How´s the body temp? Up all night looking at all your odds and ends again, looking for something but I´m not sure what. I didn´t find it.

Tony this is your mama and I want you to know that I cant believe your gone. I had you for 54 years and I loved you every minute!! If we were not together we were on the phone and when facetiming started-we saw each other every day!!! A day wont go by that i dont think of you and cry thinking when you called i didnt tell you the right thing. I told you urgent care and they gave you two shots and you called me in horrible and said Mama do you think Im allergic to the shot. It hurts so bad. I pray that i told you to go to the hospital because you probably had a blood clot !! You still kept going, at the grocery store the night before yodied and told me how you were hurting, you said dying!!! How did I not tell you to go to the hospital or if I had known I would have got in my truck and come to you!!! I so wish i hadMy only consolation is that your in Heaven with daddy and you had missed him so much. God is truth and you went to church when you were 1 month old and sunday school abd church, Christian school and you asked Jesus to come into your heart and save you and Whosoever will shall be saved!!!! I will see you again when I step into Heaven. I will see Jesus first, then you and daddy and all those that we love that are there!!! We will have eternity to spend on streets of Gold. No more sorrow or tears!!!!!! I pray for Hunter, JoJo and Marlowe and expect to see them there!!!! I love you my Baby and always will.

my friend, my tattoo artist, my son´s Paparan and one of my best friends husband. Gosh I have known you for a very long time now. Thank you for being in my life. Thank you for sharing laughs and hugs. You made the best catfish in the world so much so that I didn´t want anyone else´s. The parade we all marched in and all the ones we went and saw. You donated blood for my son when he needed it for his heart surgery. He´s gonna miss you Paparan he´s been asking for you. We are all going to miss you. You were so fierce and full of life this is hard to grasp that you are gone. We love you like the ocean. So so so many memories with you and Chieko. Was hoping we had many more to all make.
