Venessa Jackson Obituary

Early Easter morning Sunday April 12,2020, God looked out into his garden and noticed something was missing. So, he sent his angels down to escort Venessa Jones Jackson to her rightful place. She was the last flower to bloom On January 10, 1955 from a bouquet of six other flowers (her sisters) planted by her parents the late Clifton Jones Jr. and Emily Lasalle Jones. She was a victim of COVID-19, but she was not a statistic or just another number. Venessa was a loving wife to James Jackson for over 47 years, beloved mother of two daughters Deonka Jackson Favorite and JaMon Jackson-Harris. Cherished mother-in law to Cordell Harris Sr. and Schoen Favorite Sr. Venessa was also a devoted mawmaw to four grandchildren Brittany Jackson, Aignea Smith, Cordell Harris Jr., and Zhanea Harris. She was the baby sister of Espor(Edward) Hill Sr., Lajean Joseph, Lana Thompson, Sharon Lewis. She was the sister in law to Carl (Diane) Jackson Sr., Michael (Amanda) Jackson Sr.,Richard (Laura) Jackson Sr. and Graylin Jackson. Mrs. Venessa Jones Jackson was greeted and escorted through the gates of heaven by her parents Clifton and Emily Jones Jr., her father in law Joseph "Buck" Jackson Sr.(Marlene), her mother in law Dorothy George (Harry), her sisters Dannell Jones Keller, and Patricia Gayle Domio, her nephew Melvin Joseph Terrance III, and her brother in law Joseph "Joe Manny" Jackson Sr. Special thanks to Pastor Orion Grant, Omega Hospital, J&J Seafood, and Jefferson Parish Sewage Department, and a special acknowledgement to Mrs. Semaj Allen Raymond, Monique Senette, and Jonathan Sylve. The family thanks everyone for all of their support, arrangements, and services in our time of need

Receiving this notice of your going home some time ago, still doesn't seem real. I know God makes no mistakes however, I do know I'm allowed to feel hurt & like you left us all unprepared to live life without you. No worries tho Mama, you've done a great job at raising your 2 beautiful daughter's & I thank you for allowing me into your family because the joke was I knew you & loved you before I had met my 2 bestfriends D & J & I knew than why I love them as much. So take your rest & know I love you & thank you for loving me like 1 of your daughter's. God will take it from here. Remembering you always your daughter Benika T.

To the entire family of Venessa - I know that the anniversary of her passing is just a little more than a month away. I was able to work with her for 40 years in one way or another. She was always helpful and thought of the patients we were caring for 1st. Venessa was fun to work with and I will remember always her in my heart as a favorite character in my life. That is why I called her lovingly “Messa”. Know that it’s a lost that you’ll will never get over -but the good lord will help you get through so that you will be able to move forward. The obituary was beautiful. Know that she touched my heart and I will always think of her with a smile on my face. Pease take care of each other as she would want you all to do. Friend and Co-worker, Myra DiGange.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Vanessa for 10 years at Omega. We didn't always get along but we never held a grudge. I respected her very much. She was good at her job. Even years after we no longer worked together I messaged her for work questions. In fact, I spoke to her 2 months ago. She will not be forgotten.

I worked with Vanessa at two different hospitals during the years. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and loved her family dearly frequently talking about them with joy in her eyes. May God Bless your family and hold you close to his heart during this time of grief. She will be greatly missed

Mrs. Venessa will be truly missed. She was such a beautiful person inside and out. We worked together years ago at Omega. She was always so kind. I will miss running into her at Walmart and having our talks. She loved her family dearly and would always talk about her grandkids who she loved so much. May God bless the entire family.
