Vernon Manuel

Vernon Manuel, 85 years of age, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014. His Homegoing service commemorating his life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 10:00 am at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 147 Millaudon St., with Elder James Frazier officiating. Interment, Providence Park and Mausoluem. Vernon was born on December 14, 1928. Vernon was one of 14 brothers and sisters. Though he never sang professionally, his very special gift was a voice from heaven. Vernon served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict. He leaves to cherish his many precious memories, one beloved sister, Sedonia Duffel; two sons, Vernon Phillip Manuel (Janice) and Terrence Manuel (Gail) ; wonderful and caring nieces, Amanda Boutte and Ronnie Lacabe; always helpful nephew, Carlos Smith; five grand children and four great grand children; a host of other nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews, most of whose names and nicknames he could remember; the wonderful owners and staff at Covenant Home; and other in laws and friends who are all part of his loving extended family.
