Victor E. Babin Jr.

Victor E. Babin, Jr., of New Orleans, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at age 93. Beloved husband of the late Alice Gatti Babin of New Orleans, LA for 64 years. Father of Victor E. Babin, III, Kathleen R. Babin, Diane B. Navarre (Craig), Robert J.A. Babin and Thomas M. Babin. Grandfather of Jennifer B. Bourgeois (Peter), Elizabeth B. Carville (Jules), Katherine B. Ascani (Peter), Stevie N. Allen (John), Calli E. Navarre, Craig H. Navarre, Jr., Thomas Ross Babin and Philip O. Babin. Great grandfather of Betsy, Sadie, and James Bourgeois, Lawson and Penny Carville, and Coralie and Millie Ascani. Preceded in death by his parents Victor E. Babin, Sr. and Coralie Serio Babin; and sister Anna Elize Whittaker. Victor was a graduate of Jesuit High School ('38) and Loyola University ('42). Victor served with honor in the U.S. Army during WWII where he earned the American Theater Medal and Victory Medal. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being with his family. He will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Michael Special School, 1522 Chippewa St. NOLA 70130. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time. Interment will take place at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum immediately following the services.
