Violet Ebert Obituary

Violet Ann Morovich Ebert, 81, passed away peacefully at home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on March 2, 2017. She was born on March 13, 1935, in New Orleans, where she graduated from St. Mary's Dominican High School and three years later earned a Bachelors Degree in Home Economics, as a member of the Dean's List from St. Mary's Dominican College. When Violet was Sweet 16, she met the love of her life, Paul Joseph Ebert; they married 6 years later in 1957. They lived in New Jersey and Baton Rouge while Paul finished his Masters and PhD degrees, then they moved to San Antonio with the Air Force, and on to Livermore, California, where they lived nearly 30 years. After her husband's retirement, they returned home to Louisiana and settled in Baton Rouge. Throughout her life, Violet was actively involved in investment clubs, book clubs, bridge groups, newcomers groups, League of Women Voters, and Church groups. Violet was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend who was adored and loved by those who knew her. Above all, she treasured her family and friends, though she treated all with love, kindness and respect. A vibrant woman, Violet lived life to the fullest. She was a gracious host, and a fabulous cook who loved to entertain. Violet always thought of others before herself, and she was a great listener, who knew how to offer just the right advice, comfort, compassion or encouragement, done with a beautiful smile. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Paul Joseph Ebert, children, Edward Michael Ebert, David Alan Ebert (Kit) and Susan Ebert Roberts (J), and grandchildren Nolan Hale Roberts, Suna Rae Roberts, Callum Trey Roberts, and sister, Linda Morovich Bonura (Anthony). She is preceded in death by her parents, Luke Morovich and Violet Ficovich Morovich, son, Kenneth Stephen Ebert and daughter, Karen Marie Ebert. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 12pm. A visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10am. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Violet Ann was truly one of the kindest, generous, sweetest ladies that I have had the honor to call my friend. She always had the most beautiful smile and loving ways for all. She was loved by and will be greatly missed by so many loving friends and family. This beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister. aunt, and loving lady has left us all with beautiful memories of her enriching our lives for having known and loved her. My sincere condolences to her husband Paul, children Edward, David, and Susan and their families, sister Linda and Anthony Bonura. and nephews Brian. Mark, Keith, and Alex.
