Virgie Lourdes Gosey-Stevenson

Mrs. Virgie Lourdes Gosey-Stevenson entered a new city, a new life on Tuesday April 5, 2022. God our father in Heaven saw no more need for her heavy nonfunctional vehicle we call a body and gave her wings to fly into his eternal kingdom. She was born in New Orleans and raised and lived in Kenner, LA to the late Herman Samuel Gosey and the late Helen Green Gosey. She attended Washington Elementary, John H. Martin where she was a member of the marching band and Riverdale High school graduate. Our mother made her debut with Swans INC as a 1965 debutant. Our mother met and married our father Milton Joseph "Larry" Stevenson and was "unequivocally" devoted to him for 53 years until his death. They moved and lived in Amarillo, TX while he was enlisted in The United States Air Force, Later they would return to Kenner more affectionately called "Back of the tracks" and call it home for the next 50 years. To this union they welcomed two daughters Sedoural Neleh and Sabena Christina. Virgie was employed as a NICU CNA at Ochsner Foundation, USPS and Pellerin Milnor for over 36 years. Our mother had an infinite passion for children and anything involving children. Our mother was a member of Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church for over 37 years where she was a Sunday school teacher, member of the senior deaconess board and the church's missionary board. Virgie leaves to cherish her memories and undying love two daughters Sedoural Neleh Stevenson-Brown, Sabena Christina Stevenson-Weathersby, grandchildren Candice, Chad, Michael, Matthew, Tcoya, great grandchildren Jalen, Bishop, Giana, Serene, Giana, Dahlia & Jabari and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be held on Saturday April 16, 2022 at Second New Guide Missionary Baptist Church 1424 S. Dilton St. Metairie. Rev. Dale J. Sanders Pastor, officiant. Viewing 9-11 AM, service 11 AM.
