I will always remember Vianne as a welcoming, generous, kind woman, with a heart as big as America. When I came to the U.S. for the first time, thanks to Vianne and Dr St Martin, I discovered New Orleans and the beautiful State of Louisiana. I shall always be grateful for the time we had together.

With deepest sympathy.

Dear Billy,
Marie and Philippe wrote to us that Vianne had passed away. It was a very sad news even though she is now close by her beloved Jesus. We have kept strong, precise and joyful memories of our meetings in Louisiana and in France. They still are a precious mark of our life. We send to you and your family our best thoughts.
Love,
Antoinette and Jean

I loved MaMe the first day I met her and feel blessed to have known her. She always put a smile on your face no matter how dark your day was. I will never forget this beautiful woman who I was so fortunate to have met when I moved to Reserve 15 years ago. She and Pops have raised a beautiful and giving family. She will be missed by many, but I promise, she will never be forgotten.
Thoughts and Prayers are with each of you.

Vianne's smile, i think that's the best i remember of her ; and her kindness, of course. And all the good intentions she (and Billy) had to us when we came in Laplace and other places.
I'm so glad to have her name for second name !
Love to all of you.

My dearest Vianne, How painful is it to realize you left us. I know, you passed away in peace, you are with God now and He is taking good care of you.

We did not talked that much the last few years but I know what we meant for each other. You couldn't imagine how important were the long nights we spent, when I was 16, just the two of us, talking... and the ones with Billy... what we said, and the prays we shared during those nights helped me to become who I am.

That is the reason why I chose you as my maid of honor for my marriage in the eyes of God, I couldn't imagine it without you by my side. It was 14 years ago, May 22nd 1999, the day when your relatives and friends are saying you good bye.

I thank God for putting you on my path. Rest in peace next to Him.
All my love, your french daughter

We would have loved to be near you for the service for Vianne. We will go at the cathedral at the same time.
We love very much Vianne, all the memories are coming back: laughs, serious discussions, shared prayers, songs, good time we shared in LaPlace,Crested Butte,Orange Beach, the camp,Napoleonville, and also in Chartres,Bordeaux,in Caen,Chambord, Honfleur...
Knowing Vianne since 1978, we had a good reason to give to our daughter Noémie, also the name of Vianne (Billy is her God father)with the name of Agnès, her God mother.
Our children are also sorrowed, and think on all of you.

May 21, 2013

Dear Billy and family, .... Although Pat and I did not see you all often over the years, we remember Vianne as a shining example of what an ideal wife and mother should be, always smiling and true to her Faith.
Recently we met the Ardoins from Florida who originally lived in La Place. They spoke so highly of Vianne and recalled that "if Vianne and Billy approved of an outing for their children, then it was o.k. for the Ardoins."
Our health this week is keeping us close to home, but please know that your family is in our thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Billy and Family,
My sisters, Jo Ann Canciene Richard, Judy Cancienne Fanguy and I extend our condolences at your loss. We only met you and Vianne once at my brother Tommy's house in LaPlace before his death but felt as though we knew you all our lives. She was so sweet and loving. "Tante Ida" Adolph Cancienne, Uncle Henry's and Grandmaw Rita Adolph Cancienne's sister, always told me when I was young that Vianne and I looked so much alike. I saw it in her eyes (Adolph eyes, I guess). So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your loss. Rest in Peace, Our Cousin.

Dear Billy and children,
Vianne is one of fifteen favorite cousins, who, in days gone by, met at Grandma's every Sunday for a fabulous dinner and lots of family fun and fellowship. Vianne's family drove in from Reserve, while everyone else lived close in and around Napoleonville. Grandma's house was Wildwood. We had such fun and I can hear Uncle Henry, Vianne's Dad, saying "children, go play under the house." And about 3:00, he would say "it's time to go because the car has no lights" (according to him). This closeness continues today and we will all miss Vianne very, very much because we have such fond memories of her. My love,

May 20, 2013

Our memories of Ms. Vianne are of happy times, laughs, prayers, songs and pure pure love and generosity to all those around her. Our hope is that all of you cling to those wonderful moments when you miss her earthly presence; her heavenly and spiritual presence will carry you forever; we will miss her also and when we do will remember her smiling face. And Dr. Billy, you have a wonderful family as we know you cherish!! Love and peaceful moments to all of you, The Sumralls
