Wayne "Honka" P. Foret Sr. has entered into the gates of heaven at the age of 72 on December 3, 2020. A native of Westwego, LA and resident of Marrero, LA. Beloved companion of Eleanor Roux of 15 years. Father to the late Wayne "Winkie" P. Foret Jr. (Jamielynn), Jason Foret (Dawn), Tylar Muhliesen (Ron), Jamie Foret (Jill), Jeramie Foret (Edwin). Former husband to Joelyn Foret. Grandfather to Taylor Foret, Dawson Foret (Jessica), Branson Foret, Logan Muliesen, Jade Foret, Seth Muhliesen, Damian Foret, and Keylan Foret. Great Grandfather to Kratos Foret. Beloved son to the late Albert "Toe Toe" Foret, Sr. and the late Irene Madeline Shouest Foret. Brother to, the late Estelle Foret, Martha Daigle, the late Albert "Blue" Foret Jr., the late Charles Foret, Sydney Foret, Anthony "Tony" Foret, and Pamela Foret. Survived by brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews. A maintenance welder and then life long musician. The Patriarch of the Foret Legacy in Swamp Pop Music. President and member of the Westbank Musicians Hall of Fame. Friends and fans are invited to attend a funeral Mass at 1:00PM on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 146 4th St., in Westwego, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gretna, LA. All visitors are required to follow all current COVID19 mandates and keep a social distance.
