Billy J. Sullivan, age 85, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 5, 2024, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Billy was born February 27, 1938, in Van Horn, TX, to the late Joseph and Betty (Lange) Cavallaro. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1956. Billy worked as a civil service employee for the U.S. Air Force (Offutt AFB) for 27 years. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, Billy was preceded in death by her husband, James R. "Sully" Sullivan, in 2006; great-granddaughter, Kaydance; daughter-in-law, Shirley Rychly; brothers, Nick and Rick; and sister, Mary Jane. Billy is survived by her children, Joseph (Joyce) Rychly, Diana (Dale) Johnson, Penny (Mike) Chatterton, Bill (Johann) Elshire, Jody (Scott) Adams, Dave Sullivan, Mike Sullivan; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Ed) Loose; brother, Joseph Cavallaro; nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family, Tuesday, 5 to 7 p.m., at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Bayliss Park Chapel. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment, Memorial Park Cemetery, with a lunch following at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.

2024 I went thru school with Billy at 2nd Avenue and TJ kept in touch thru the years Below is a picture of us 4 good friends at a get together in CB in 2013 She was a special friend.

My thoughts and prayers go with the Sullivan family. Billy was such a blessing in my life for many years at Holy Family Parish. May the perpetual light of Christ shine upon her.
