Connie L. Moreno, age 84, of Council Bluffs, passed away August 8, 2025, at UNMC in Omaha.
Connie was born November 7, 1940, in Hamburg, IA., to the late Pleasant A. Strong and Pansy R. (Stephens) Strong.
She was united in marriage to Esequiel C ."Zeke" Moreno for just shy of 60 years. Together they raised their children Cindy, Kevin, Becky, and Anita. Connie worked early on at World Radio and evenings at various banks. She enjoyed country music, westerns, and puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zeke in 2021; granddaughter, Jamie Scheffler; brother, Clark Strong and his wife, Nikki; sister, Charlotte Ganser, and her husband, Carl.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Joel) Scheffler, of Council Bluffs, Kevin (Erin) Moreno, of Council Bluffs, Becky Ring, of Shelby, IA., Anita (Jeff Vondra) Moreno, of Plattsmouth, NE.; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Larry) Bowers, of Richville, MN, Rita (Tim) Brennan, of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.
Visitation Wednesday 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral service Thursday 10:30 a.m., all at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home.
Connie will be laid to rest with husband Zeke in Garner Township Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Walnut Hill reception Center.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
