As the anniversary of Michael's death approaches, I just wanted to let you know that I was one who much admired him on Hawkeye Report Offtopic Forum, and thought he was one of, if not the best poster there. I remember seeing his obituary in the Nonpareil, but didn't make the connection until someone else on that forum did. I was really saddened to hear of it, and really miss his posts. I think Don was a year ahead of me at Lewis Central back in the '60s. Please know that you are in my thoughts as the anniversary approaches..

I didn't know Michael personally but engaged with him alot from 2014-2019 on a Iowa college football message board. He was great fun; intelligent, witty and kind. I'll pray for him and your family for many hours.
I'm sorry for your loss.

Mikey and I had so many adventures in our younger days that I´ll treasure. I am so very sorry and filled with sadness for your loss. Time and life took us in different directions but we always caught up and picked up where we left off.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Michael’s friends and family. I was one year ahead of Michael at ALHS and he was my favorite debate partner. The two things I remember most about Michael are his smile and the laughter he could bring to any situation. Make no mistake, he was competitive but he also made things fun. He was just an all around wonderful person to be around and I am lucky to have known him.

Maryann,Don, and Cole,
It breaks my heart to hear of Michael's passing. Adam and I were very good friends for many years up to his passing. I met Michael and Cole a handful of times during those years. Although our interactions were very brief, Michael always left a lasting impression of being such a nice, genuine, and courteous person. I know Adam thought the world of him and loved him very much. I am comforted with thought of them being together where there is no pain, no suffering, just peace and love. My prayers are with you all.

I had Mr. Angeroth in high school, but I didn´t meet (and get to know Don) until I was up in Iowa City. It was a happy accident to discover him among the sea of 28,000 other kids. His dry wit and sense of humor always put me at ease, and he was always an engaging conversationalist. We lost track of each other after a few years, but I always remember him fondly. I am so pleased to know that he´d found the love of his life. You all have my deepest sympathy as you grieve, remember and celebrate the bright and kind light of his spirit.

Michael was a friend in high school who I always thought fondly of over the years since we graduated. I got to know his intelligent humor, calming approach to stressful situations and great academic talent through the newspaper and yearbook room. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute to his life. I am not surprised that the Michael I knew in high school grew into the incredible man you´ve described. Wishing you peace on your journey of grief and remembrance.
