Michele Chew Obituary

Michele "Mikki" Lynn Chew

June 27, 1972 - August 16, 2024

Michele Lynn "Mikki" Chew was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on June 27, 1972 to Tim & Nancy (Hansen) Chew. She passed away unexpectedly in her sleep of natural causes on August 16, 2024. She graduated from Lewis Central High School in 1990 where she participated on the swimming team and served as a class officer. She attended the University of Nebraska in Omaha while working as a secretary in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area. Mikki moved to Arnolds Park in the mid '90's and worked at the "Wharf" until its closing, then at the "Ritz". She was a loyal, reliable employee who loved her job.

Mikki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Fee & Nelle Chew and Les & Bette Hansen. She is survived by her parents; brother and sister- in-law, Chad and Sierra Chew; nieces Alex, Addlee and Stella. As well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

It is rare to find someone so rich in love and friendship as attested to the "Fly high Mikki" signs atop the restaurant marquees in the Lakes area. She will be truly missed by hundreds of friends, family, and customers. "If you didn't love Mikki, you didn't know Mikki".

A funeral will be at Turner Jenness Funeral Home in Spirit Lake at 11:00 a.m. on August 22, 2024 followed by a reception at the Ritz. A visitation service will be in Council Bluffs at a later date. Burial will be in the Lewis Township Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
