Ronell Doughman Obituary
June 7, 1935 - January 24, 2025
Ronell "Choppy" Doughman, age 89, passed away January 24, 2025, at Risen Son Christian Village with his family by his side.
He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa on June 7, 1935 and was a lifelong resident. Choppy was a devoted Trainman for over 30 years, working for the Union Pacific. He retired at the age of 60, and enjoyed 30 years of retirement. He was a proud Vice President for 22 years serving NARVE (National Association of Retired Veteran Railroad Employees) Unit #30 in Council Bluffs. Choppy had a tender spot for animals, his friends, and family. He will be missed dearly.
Choppy was preceded in death by his grandparents; father, J.B. Doughman; brothers: Vic Doughman and Robert Doughman; sister, Lona Doughman Colyd; brothers-in-law: Larry Quandt and Mitch Goldsberry.
He is survived by his brothers: Jerry (Carolyn) Doughman and Wesley (Donna) Doughman; sisters: Mary Jayne Quandt, Annetta Goldsberry, and Sally Bogett; sister-in-law, Jackie Doughman; several nieces, nephews and other friends and family.
Graveside Inurnment February 1, 2025 at 12 p.m., at Walnut Hill Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center. The family will direct memorials.
