TASSARO
Alfred "Al" Francis, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on Saturday, August 23rd 2014 with his wife Doris and his four children by his side.
Al was born July 22, 1922 to Fortunato (Fred) and Theolinda (Linda Piazza) Tassaro in Fort Lee, New Jersey. He graduated from Fort Lee high school and served in the US Navy during World War II. Al graduated from Newark College of Engineering (NJIT), and in 1951 married the love of his life, Doris Joe. They had four children Steve (Betsy) Tassaro, Mary (Bob) Brown, Mark (Alicia) Tassaro, and Maggie Tassaro. Throughout his career as a lifelong employee of ALCOA, Al and Doris made homes in Montvale, NJ, New Kensington, PA, and Lafayette, IN, finally settling in Richmond, IN in 1973.
Al is survived by his wife Doris (Richmond, IN), sister Gloria Hensler (Fort Lee, NJ), brother Francis Tassaro (Astoria, NY), four children, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Al would be honored to have any donations in his memory made to either the Boys & Girls Club-Wayne County located at 1717 S "L" Street, Richmond, IN 47374 (ph 765-962-6922) or St. Mary's Catholic Church of Richmond located at 720 N "A" Street, Richmond, IN 47374 (ph 756-692-3902).
