This is the first time that I am writing a sympathy letter on a computer, but it seems like a good way to send a message. I extend my condolences to the family of Allen who I had known for about 20 years before he retired from our department of biology, WPUNJ. He had an easy smile and a friendly way about him. Allen was always interested in my ecological work in lakes and ponds, and would come by the office to ask about it. We all appreciated Allen's expertise in his area of physiology. The metaphor that no man is an island is an apt one, and those of us who knew Allen will remember him fondly. Regards to all, Mike Sebetich
