Anthony DiLascio Obituary

Anthony J. DiLascio

Hasbrouck Heights and Fort Myers, FL - Anthony J. DiLascio 69, of Hasbrouck Heights and Fort Myers, FL. beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from a long battle with a congenital heart defect. Born to the late Anthony and Lucy DiLascio in Hackensack, Anthony grew up in Lyndhurst with his three siblings.

An accomplished pianist, Anthony began playing at the age of 6, later earning a degree in Piano Performance from Rutgers University. He played professionally for the remainder of his life in bands as well as playing solo piano in area hotels and other venues. He also volunteered at HealthPark Hospital in Fort Myers playing the piano whenever he was there. Anthony loved children as they did him, connecting with them in a unique way. He taught music before teaching third grade in East Rutherford for many years, retiring in 2010.

Generous, kind, and a loyal friend who never let his friends know when he quietly defended them, Anthony was a humble man and a devout Catholic and tried to live that life every day.

Above all, Anthony loved his family. He met his wife , Judy, while both were students at Rutgers. They were married for 45 years. His daughters, who adored him and who feel so lucky to have had him as their father, their husbands. and his granddaughters were the most important thing in the world to him. Granddaughters, Mia and Morgan, loved how their Pop played with them and cuddled with them.

Anthony will be deeply missed by his wife Judy, his daughters, their husbands and his granddaughters. He is survived by his loving wife Judy (nee Bombell), his devoted daughters Jaclyn Malyk and her husband Scott, Cheri DiLascio and her husband Sam Stein, and his beloved granddaughters Mia and Morgan Malyk. He is also survived by his brothers Joseph DiLascio and his wife Valarie, James DiLascio and his wife Tina, his sister Mary Orlando and her late husband Joe, and his many nieces and nephews. In addition, he is survived by many close friends from childhood and from his musical pursuits.
