Oradell - Muti, Barbara (nee) Dorso age 67 a longtime resident of Oradell and born and raised in Union City died peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, February 5, 2021. Beloved wife of Michael Muti. Devoted mother of Amanda Marconi and her husband David. Loving grandmother of Michael Anthony. Loving sister of Charles Dorso and his late wife Karen, and Laura Robert and her husband Rick. Barbara was pre-deceased by her parents, Charles and Grace Dorso. Dear sister-in-law Francine Scheck and her husband Neal, and Phyllis Casey and her husband Lawrence. Barbara was cherished by her many loving nieces and nephews along with her many friends. Barbara received both her undergraduate and Master's degrees from Jersey City State University. She was a dedicated educator in Union City where she was raised. She taught for 35 years beginning at Emerson High School, Union Hill High School, and later at Jose Marti Academy. She enjoyed being a field supervisor, mentoring new teachers at Seton Hall University and William Paterson University. She was also a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's in Oradell. Along with her love for teaching, Barbara had great love for her family and friends. While Sunday dinners were a large part of her week, she rarely neglected her many other hobbies. Barbara loved spending time at the beach, she enjoyed yoga, and always found time to go shopping. With all of that said, her greatest joy for the past year was doting over her grandson Michael Anthony who was the apple of her eye. Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, February 8 from 4-8PM at the Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Rd., Oradell. Funeral service Tuesday, February 9 at 9AM from the funeral home to St. Joseph's RC Church for a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories Mausoleum.
