Claudette Carlson Meliere

MELIERE - Claudette Carlson, left this world on Tuesday, November 30th, 2004 at the age of 55. She resided in Cleveland, Houston and West New York, NJ. After graduating from Paramus High School, she went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree from Muhlenberg College and a Master of Science degree from The University of Akron where she was an Assistant Professor. She also studied in Spain and Austria. Among her various and diverse careers, her final ambition was as a writer. Her careers included research at Akron-Cleveland Medical Center, marketing positions with Bailey Control and Honeywell Corporation, Vice President of United Control Corporation in Paterson, NJ. As a past Green Party candidate for Congress in 2000, a member of The Rainbow Coalition and a peace activist, she was an active fighter for justice and a believer of working towards a peaceful world. Claudette was an experienced traveler, having visited Canada, Europe, Asia, North and South America, and the Carribean Islands. She was also an amateur astronomer, attended six solar eclipses across the world, and was an avid opera buff. She will be dearly missed by her parents Dot and Al Meliere; her sisters Patricia Janda and her husband Ken, Donnalee Meliere and Alice Kivlon and her husband Bill, her nephews Jay Janda, Ryan Kivlon, Lee and Eric Pardo, her nieces, Danielle Janda, Rachelle Pardo and Charlene Kivlon. Claudette lived her life well, to her fullest, and without any regrets. Family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Thursday, December 2, and Friday, December 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, S113 Farview Avenue, Paramus. Funeral services will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, December 4, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 337 Farview Avenue, Paramus.
