Connor Downs Obituary
Connor Thomas, age 28, died Friday, October 14, 2011. Born in Fairview, NJ. Connor resided in Oakland most of his life before moving to Montclair in 2009. He was an Edward J. Bloustein Scholar, 2001 graduate from Don Bosco Prep High School in Ramsey and a 2005 graduate from UNC at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler School of Business. Connor had the distinct honor of being a MENSA member. Surviving are his loving parents Thomas and Patricia (nee Schult) of Oakland, his dear sister and brother-in-law, Colleen and David Hamersma of Wyckoff and his maternal grandmother, Mary Schult of Pompton Plains. Connor is also survived by his nephews, Thomas and Liam Hamersma, who meant the world to him. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Sheila, who was Connor's Godmother and Richard Lewis of Midland Park and Susan and Robert Airel of Wall, NJ and his Godfather, Patrick Pisani of Hoboken. Visiting, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, www.vpfh.com, 257 Godwin Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Funeral Service Wednesday 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment at Redeemer Cemetery, Mahwah. In lieu of flowers donations to the Uncle Connor Trust Fund, for the education of Connor's nephews, C/O Mr. Phil Murphy, CPA, MMB, LLC, 65 Harristown Road, Glen Rock, NJ 07542 would be greatly appreciated.
